Earlier this year we were contacted by PER (Physicians Education Resource)International to support the distribution via satellite of state of the art education in oncology. Our initial project was a satellite broadcast from a London studio to 8 venues around the UK in June 2010. PER International is a part of the global PER business that specializes in providing high quality education for oncology physicians worldwide. Working with an educational grant provided by Roche Products UK we delivered a central London studio location and remote audience locations across the UK. The concept for the meeting was that leading cancer specialists could present information on the latest trends in cancer care and overall patient care to an audience of cancer specialists across the UK without the need for all participants to travel to London. In total 8 remote locations were set up, each being equipped with a satellite downlink antenna and A/V equipment. Once the main presentation from London was complete, questions were invited via an audio link back to the panel in London.
